I'm a full-time mummy Secret Group

~ Posted on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 6:33 AM ~

Attention all followers,

I have created a group (will be set to secret soon) as frankly, I'm tired of putting disclaimers on each and every real-life stories on my Facebook page just because some people are sensitive over certain topics or do not like to read articles that are negative/scary/abuses/death/tragedies etc. There will not be any disclaimers on articles shared in this secret group.

So, if you say yes to all the following criteria, hop over to my secret group (link below) and click to join. Only join if you are OK with the following criteria:

* Tired of reading disclaimers

* Agree that parenting and/or real life is not just rainbow and butterflies and unicorns etc and would like to find out as much as what is happening across the world to be better informed

* Agree that everyone has different cultures, beliefs, styles.

* You don't feel agitated seeing articles with typo, grammar, etc

* Want to be able to share your feedback and thoughts without the fear of being trolled or bashed on your opinions

* Want to be able to search through previous postings (you can't do it on FB pages)

* Want to be a part of a global community that looks beyond race, religion, countries, gender, etc etc.

* Want to be able to post questions or share things on the wall (but need my approval first)

* For bloggers, I also share the occasional review pitches I get.

Do note that I have the right to be choosy and picky over who can joined my group as I want to keep it small as well so if you don't hear from me, you can still stay on my Facebook page and continue reading whatever I shared on it. The link to find my secret group on FB is as follow:

How to Schedule Post on Facebook Fan Page

~ Posted on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 6:54 AM ~

As some of you might noticed, I am more active on my Facebook page and being someone who absolutely loves to read stuff, I tend to come across with lots of interesting articles on the Internet and a lot of these articles are what I personally feel worth sharing on my fan page.

I do my best to space out the posting of these articles so as not to overcrowd our FB walls, so I scheduled all my postings days in advance on average by 2 hours gap starting from 9am until 11pm (Malaysia time). There are days where the gaps are closer especially when I came across those articles that I feel I must share at that moment.

FYI, I don't really remember what I have scheduled earlier unless I spend some time browsing through my scheduled postings (which I don't often do), hence there might be more negative news in a day etc. I actually have to explain this in order to answer some individuals on my FB page who asked why am I postings so many negative news on a particular day.

Anyway, here is a quick tutorial on how to schedule post on an FB Fan Page:

Step 1: Copy paste the text and link that you want to be posted on your FB Fan Page. I normally will copy the first few paragraphs or sentences from the article as excerpt followed by the URL link to the article.

Step 2: Right below the preview thumbnail of the article, click on the 'Schedule Post' link and select the date from the popup calendar followed by the time you wanted to schedule to post the article.

Step 3: Once you have determined the date and time to schedule the posting of the article, click the 'Schedule' button. You will then see the following screen telling you that your post has been scheduled. You may click 'Close' to close the screen.

Step 4: If you realised that you may want to change your scheduled date or time, click on the 'View Activity Tab'.

Step 5: Look for the post you wanted to change and click on the arrow button on the right hand corner of the related post. You will see a drop-down menu with options to reschedule, edit the text of the article, pubilsh the post immediately or to delete the scheduled post.

I hope this article serves to help you in planning out how to schedule your posts on your Facebook fan page!

Fiverr - What People Do for USD5

~ Posted on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at 8:59 AM ~

I would like to share another website I like, Fiverr!

I'm a full-time mummy

What is it you wonder? Fiverr is the world’s largest marketplace for Gigs starting at USD5! Everything you can think of, to buy or to sell, each for USD5! Kinda like the Daiso shop in Malaysia!

I first used Fiverr few years back when I hired a web designer to design my blog header. I had previously paid RM30 (about USD10) to a local Malaysian designer to design a blog header for me when I switched from Blogspot to my own self-domain website. I found out later that some of the objects in my blog header was duplicated and found elsewhere. I was angry and pissed and immediately looked for another designer, vowing that my blog header must not be replicated or copied elsewhere.

I am so happy I found Fiverr and after browsing through many many gigs (tasks) available, I settled on this particular designer! I totally love the results and communication with the designer was done via Fiverr website. I like it so much that I hired the same designer again 2 years later when I have our 3rd kiddo, requesting for the designer to add in another kiddo into my blog header to represent our 3 kiddos now.

Other than designing my blog header, I also paid another USD5 to hire a web specialist to analyse and go through my website and provide his recommendations to me on how best I can improve my website from there on. I was also given tips on how to monetize my website. I love the results and tips given and can see remarkable improvements after implementing the suggestions given.

Some tips I would like to share if you are planning to purchase a gig:

  • Do browse for other similar options, compare first before settling on the one you like.

  • If possible, check out the portfolios or works done by the seller (so you can have a feel of the results)

  • Read the gig's specifications, make sure your requirements are as detail as possible. Some additional changes requires time and money, so do take note of that.

  • Maintain close communication with the seller throughout the process so that any changes / feedback can be immediately acted on.

Do check out the website, who knows you might end up hiring someone there to help you out!
