What Colors Are This Dress?

~ Posted on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 4:58 PM ~

I saw a friend of mine posted this asking what color is this dress. In my mind, I said 'DUH.. WHITE AND GOLD of course!' and went on my day. Cleared stuff in storerooms, made lunch, pack stuff to be donated again to charity, and while resting, surfed some news to read and share in my page and I saw a lot of articles on this dress. Apparently there are people who see this dress as different color.

I still think it as a joke and was about to shrug it away when our almost 6 years old boy came over asking whether he could have some snacks for tea break. I asked him what color is the dress.

He said 'Blue and black'. I froze.

I asked him to repeat again what color is the dress and this time he said it in Bahasa (Malaysia's national language): HITAM DAN BIRU.

Oh crapppp... this is no joke. And so I am sharing this picture and see what you think of the dress. What colors are this dress?

Updates 1:

I have personally witnessed both white/gold and black/blue combo on this dress. At different hours of the day, I just looked back at the picture, and it changed colors. Okay, more like the colors are not the same as what I saw earlier.

Updates 2:

The dress is confirmed originally BLUE AND BLACK. If you still can't wrap your mind with that, try looking at this cartoon. Also, you might want to read about the "18 Relationships Destroyed By The Dress That Broke The Internet" for some laughs!

How to Setup Trusted Contacts in Facebook

~ Posted on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 7:53 AM ~

Was tinkering around with my settings when I saw this feature called 'Trusted Contacts'. Apparently this feature has been in FB since 2013.

Excerpt from Facebook post:

If you ever have trouble logging into your Facebook account, you'll have your trusted contacts as an option to help you out. You just need to call your trusted contacts and let them know you need their help to regain access to your account. Each of them can get a security code for you with instructions on how to help you. Once you get three security codes from your trusted contacts, you can enter them into Facebook to recover your account. With trusted contacts, there’s no need to worry about remembering the answer to your security question or filling out long web forms to prove who you are. You can recover your account with help from your friends.

Anyway, long story short, I thought of making a tutorial on how to setup trusted contacts for your Facebook account as well. So here it goes:

* Go to the top right of your page, look for the drop-down arrow, click on it and click on 'Settings'. Go for the 'Security' feature.

* Select Trusted Contacts.

* You will see the following screen explaining to you what is Trusted Contacts.

* Click on 'Choose Trusted Contacts' and you will be prompted with a field to type in between 3 to 5 contacts in your personal FB profile. You must enter AT LEAST 3 contact persons.

Some tips to select good trusted contacts:

~ Choose people you trust, like friends you’d give a spare key to your house.

~ Choose people you can reach without using Facebook, ideally over the phone or in person, since you’ll need to contact them when you can’t log in.

~ Choose more people to help you. The more friends you choose, the more people who can help you when you need it.

* You will see the profiles you added shown below. You may enter up to 5 contacts. Click on the 'Confirm' button once you have decided to proceed.

* You will be prompted again with a screen to key in your Facebook password.

* You will then see your Trusted Contacts. You can edit or remove all in future should you have any changes in the Trusted Contacts.

I hope this article serves to help you in setting up the trusted contacts in your Facebook profile!

How to Back Up Your Facebook Data

~ Posted on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 9:18 AM ~

In case some of you didn't noticed, Facebook was down for over half hour yesterday (27th January 2015 for us Malaysians). Apparently Instagram was down at the same time too. I noticed because I was busy stalking all the good deals posted on this preloved group on Facebook and wanted to send a private message to one of the seller and all of a sudden my Facebook page just hangs. I can still go to Google and other websites but not Facebook. Just hours after that, I started getting articles on Facebook and Instagram being down and etc. There is also article guiding us on how to backup our Facebook data just in case of social network meltdown. That reminded me on what I said to my sister in law 2 days ago as I was guiding her on how to create Facebook page and I mentioned something about not being in control of your Facebook data if Facebook suddenly make some changes to its policy.

Anyway, long story short, I thought of making a tutorial on how to backup your Facebook data as well. So here it goes:

* Go to the top right of your page, look for the drop-down arrow, click on it and click on 'Settings'.

* You can see the option to 'Download a copy of your Facebook data'. Click on it.

* Click on 'Start My Archive'. You will be prompted with a screen to key in your Facebook password.

* You will see the screen below. Click on 'Start My Archive'.

* You will then see the screen below informing you that an email will be to your email address when your data is ready for download.

* The email you received from Facebook will look like the following. Just click on the link provided in order to start your download process.

* You will see the following screen informing you that your data is ready to be downloaded. Click on 'Download Archive' button.

* You will be prompted again with a screen to key in your Facebook password.

* You will see a window prompt as below. Click 'OK' to save the file. Your downloaded file will be stored in the default location for your downloaded items.

* Your downloaded data will be in zipped file format - separated into different folders for html, photos and videos with an index file.

I hope this article serves to help you in planning out how to backup your data in your Facebook profile!
