Product Review - BabyBuds Products

~ Posted on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 8:36 AM ~

Early this month, I received an email from Edward of Baby Toys MY on the possibility to review some of the products sold in his company and after checking out the website, I asked whether I could review 2 of the products, a teether and a rattle which I thought is right on time to be tried out by our 5 months old Carolyn.

The sponsor not only hand deliver the products to me, they also generously gave another toy for her! And they actually brought 2 designs for me to choose! Nice touch! Anyway, let's continue with my review below...

I received a total of 3 products for our review which I will break it down for easier reading:

# 1 : BabyBuds Ring Rattle Buddy - Owl

There are currently 2 designs for the rattle product and I chose the owl design due to the striking big owl eyes. It is the first thing that caught my attention and I would think being 5 months old and starting to see things around clearly now, something this striking and so contrast would be eye catching for our baby.

The rattle size is not too big that our baby can't be able to hold onto, in fact, it is just a nice and she had a good time chomping on the plastic ring actually.

One thing that kinda annoys me is the label. It is kinda big, not to my liking and half the time I was very tempted to cut it off actually. I would appreciate if the labelling size is smaller like probably an inch long or lesser.

I had initially worried that the plastic ring would be too hard and that it might be dangerous to our 5 months old girl. You see, with 2 kiddos who like to fight make-up fight make-up in seconds, it is kinda freaky if the rattle ends up being a tool to whack or throw towards (and ends up thrown to) our innocent bystander but I have tried whacking the plastic ring to my forehead (yes, I have weird ways to test the products I review!), not hard and worries of danger is no longer there. Phewww...

In summary, a nice cute looking comfy rattles that also doubles up as a soft toy and teether as well!

# 2 : BabyBuds Teether Buddy - Owl

Similar to the rattle, there are currently 2 designs for the teether product and I chose the owl design due to the striking big owl eyes. The soft plush portion is same design as per the owl rattle.

You can see the small rounded dots on the ring surface which is meant to be chew/gummed by a child. The teether size is about 6 inches long, just nice that our baby can hold onto but she still needs a bit practise to hold onto the ring part to chew on - not the product problem, our girl's finger grasp is not strong yet hence I still guide her to hold onto the ring.

I have tried to bend the plastic teether ring portion. Very flexible and easy to bend, not a concern that it would be too hard to be chewed/gummed on.

In summary, again, a nice cute looking comfy teether that also doubles up as a soft toy!

# 3 : BabyBuds Plush Buddy - Zebra

This is a surprise product that was added in when I met the sponsor who was passing me the 2 products I requested for. The sponsor brought along the 2 available designs (monkey and zebra) for me to choose on the spot and I chose the zebra design as I think it looks cuter with its stripes and mane.

The soft toy is about 25 by 25cm in size, just nice, not too small that it goes unnoticed and not too big that it ends up a hassle to hold around. I like that the legs and tail were tied in knots as I saw our 5 months old girl trying to grasp and holding onto the knots tightly. (But the OCD part of me really wants to untangle the knots!!) Again, I feel that the labelling is a tad too big.

I had to earlier gently repeat a couple of times to our 2.5 years old Alyson that the zebra soft toy belongs to her baby sister. But just to satisfy her curiosity, I let Alyson have a go at the soft toy first. Once she got the idea that the toy is meant for Carolyn, she gently passed the soft toy to her baby sister who immediately investigates the new soft plush object hovering around her.

It looks so cute to see Carolyn holding onto the zebra soft toy! It's like she's riding the zebra, right?

Heart-warming sights.... Mmmmmm... In summary, a cute soft toy that could just become your kiddo's best friend for a long time!

Muzium TUDM (RMAF Museum)

~ Posted on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 7:04 AM ~

About a month ago, we went to check out the RMAF Museum or Muzium TUDM (in Bahasa). We went there on a Sunday afternoon (can't recall exact time, probably 3-ish?) and spent almost 2 hours there! Anyway, this post is to document down our thoughts and feedback on our visit to the Muzium TUDM (RMAF Museum)...

I'm a full-time mummy

It takes us a while to locate the place as we were coming from another direction of Sungai Besi but to be honest, once we could see the landing base in Sungai Besi (big huge space), you just sort of navigate towards the area and you'll reach there in no time. You see a big guarded entry to which you take an immediate left turn to drive in a wee bit and reached your destination.

You will be greeted with an aircraft on a huge pedestal the moment you stepped into the museum. Then you will see a helicopter and our 5 years old boy immediately shouted that it looks like the one in Transformer show (err... the one that morphed into a giant robotic scorpion in the desert?) There's a blue small tank as you ventured further in.

You will then see a small lake and you walked further in, you will be greeted with a sight of loads and loads of aircrafts nicely parked in the huge huge field. On the right hand side, you will see a huge aircraft hangar.

We turned left and started exploring and checking out the aircrafts out in the field. A big signboard warns you not to stepped into the exhibit area but yet I've seen some blogs around with pictures of the bloggers and their family members INSIDE the aircrafts. Oh well, we are law abiding citizens, so we stayed in the proper areas.

Somehow our 2.5 years old girl ventured off tracks and started picking up the things she sees on ground, flowers, plants, anything! She runs around under the hot hot sun. Gaaaaa, this mummy is too tired to chase her off the track since I was also pushing our 6 months old girl in the stroller. So I just let our Alyson roams free and snapped all these gorgeous shots!

Once we checked out all the aircrafts out in the field, we turned towards the hangar and explored inside. There's an aircraft you can climbed into and pretends to fly it hahaha...

To sum up our review on Muzium TUDM (RMAF Museum):

PLUS POINTS:

  • FREE entry!

  • Lots of nice clear signboards with more details on the aircrafts.
  • The walkways are stroller-friendly (though some are a wee bit bumpy for the outdoor aircrafts exhibition site)

  • If you are lucky (or stay long enough) you might even get to see an aircraft lands (we saw a small plane landing)
  • Opening Hours: Mon - Thurs (9am to 5pm), Fri (close), Sat - Sun (9.30am to 5pm)

BAD POINTS:

  • Not enough shelters/shades and benches for people to sit and rest

If you plan to go there, do remember to bring caps for your kiddos, spare shirts and pants, lots of water, umbrella. Sorry I can't comment on the amenities (toilet, nursing room etc) as we didn't need to use these facilities during our visit there.

Overall, a very very nice place to visit, lots of fun and educational stuff enough to attract your kiddos and it is free!

Taman Tasik Perdana Playground

~ Posted on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 6:34 AM ~

We had recently checked out the kids playground in Taman Tasik Perdana (aka Lake Gardens) and boy oh boy... I think I'd go crazy if I'm still a kid! That playground is hugeeeeeeeeeee! I sort of panicked initially at the sight of it because with 3 kiddos (and thank God the 3rd one still strapped in stroller) else I don't know how am I going to be watching out all 3 kiddos when they zipped and zapped everywhere in the playground! Anyway, hubby took over the hawk-eye ala CCTV monitoring task, making sure our older 2 kiddos are within our eyesight and everything is fine and dandy while I stood nearby with our almost 6 months old girl in her stroller.

Anyway, this post is to document down our thoughts and feedback on our visit to the Taman Tasik Perdana Playground...

I'm a full-time mummy

We reached the Taman Tasik Perdana Playground around 11am. We didn't ventured in to look for the parking, we parked at the roadside as how all the other cars there did and walked down towards the playground. There is proper signages at the place, the public playground is open from 6am to 8om everyday.

I think for a second when we were all standing at the entrance towards the playground, I could see our 5 years old boy standing there, not sure which area to 'attack' first hahahaha...

There are lots of nice themed playground setups all around. Coolness!

I mean, wouldn't you go crazy with the sights of all these? Look at that long bridge! My mummy instincts immediately scanned for the ladder/stairs up to these contraptions and whether our kiddos could get themselves up there without us going in as well. Anyway, I did go into the bridge one just because I have to satisfy the kiddo in me, you know?!

After all the playground madness, we strolled up to explore the areas around Taman Tasik Perdana. Nice walkways, nice sceneries, there's a lake, some man-made waterfalls, and this long long long long walkway with forest look-alike background.

We spent just an hour there, though it was really tiring and we were all hot and sweaty by the time we got back into our car. Would have spend longer time there but it was close to lunch time and we wanted to get back home to rest a bit as we have a movie outing few hours later in the day. To sum up our review on Taman Tasik Perdana Playground:

PLUS POINTS:

  • FREE entry!

  • Most of the walkways are stroller-friendly

  • Nice city view and yet you are surrounded with nature and flora environment

BAD POINTS:

  • Not enough shelters/shades and benches for people to sit and rest

  • Playground area is too huge, really need to be very careful if you have a number of kids to watch out for

If you plan to go there, do remember to bring caps for your kiddos, spare shirts and pants, lots of water, mosquitoes repellant, insect bites ointment (just in case), umbrella, picnic mat if you want to rest on the grass, some light snacks.

Overall, a very very nice place to visit, lots of fun playgound stuff enough to tire out your kiddos and it is free!
