* This app is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I used the opportunity to teach our boy to be careful with his surroundings now that he is going for his preK and his class has physical activities at the nearby park. Honestly, this is the first time I learned about ground bees so I make sure our kiddos know there is such insects and to be very careful everywhere they are.

* I also used the opportunity to explain to our boy that we should be humble and not arrogant, to learn new things when there is opportunity given.

* Overall a nice story for the family!

Stir-Fry Pasta

~ Posted on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at 9:07 AM ~

For this post, I am sharing the different ways you can stir-fry pasta, at the same time ensuring it is healthy and kiddo-friendly meals! I normally cook pasta or fried rice for our kiddos' lunch and will try to mix and throw in whatever ingredients I have on hand. So feel free to go crazy with the ingredients hahaha... Without further ado, here goes my post on Stir-Fry Pasta:

Ingredients:

* Garlic - 1-2 cloves chopped finely
* Pasta, spaghetti, whatever you have (I normally use fusili, the corkscrew shaped pasta)
* Meat: You can use chicken, fish, just make sure it is bite-sized for easier consumption
* Egg(s)
* Vegetable: I normally go for carrots (julienned), broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage
* Oil for frying - about 2 ~ 3 tbsp
* Vegetable broth powder - about
1 tsp
* Soy sauce - about 2-3 tbsp
* Salt & pepper to taste

Methods:
* Prepare your pasta, make sure it's al dente.
* Heat oil in frying pan.
* Fry the garlic next until you smell nice garlic-ky smell from the frying pan. Be careful not to overfry them as it will give bitter taste then.
* Fry the meat (if any) until cooked. You can fry the egg(s) and/or veggies after that.
* Add in the cooked pasta and continue frying.
* Add in the vegetable broth and soy sauce and/or pepper and salt. Fry for 1-2 minutes some more.
* Dish is ready!

Outcome (some of the pics I managed to snap):

I like cooking these dishes, they are easy, fast, healthy and kids-friendly. I normally get everything done in half hour time. Hope you can try out some of these ideas and be more creative than me!

Baby Room Review - IPC Mutiara Damansara

~ Posted on Monday, April 7, 2014 at 7:41 AM ~

I hope you enjoy reading my baby room review as much as I enjoy sneaking in my camera along with my baby and sheepishly taking pictures during the nursing session hehehehe.... I have previously blogged about the baby room in IPC in June 2012 and we were there a while ago and I noticed the room has been revamped and it looks nice, I told myself I gotta blog about it!

MY FEEDBACK

Location: There is proper signage that will lead you to the baby room in 2nd floor. There's a sign outside telling you that there is also another baby room in the 1st floor.

Facilities: Dustbin, mirror, sink, handwash liquid, paper towel dispenser right next to the sink, an anti-slip mat in front of the sink, a diaper changing station, 2 comfy sofas and a table next to the sofas. I love the new wallpaper designs too!

There is also a magazines rack right next to the door, I didn't check out the magazines though. There are 2 power outlets next to the baby diaper changing station.

I checked back my previous review on the same room and noticed they used to have a curtain around one of the sofa to cordon it off for breastfeeding mums instead of the 2 sofas now right next to each other and no more curtain in the baby room. I wished they put back the curtain as there are some nursing mothers who prefer to stil have some privacy when nursing as I've seen men in the baby room accompanying their wife when changing their baby's diaper so with a curtain in the room, at least everybody can still continue doing their tasks and not feeling like intruding or anything. Just my 2 cents...

Comfort Level: The room size is just nice, cosy, though I feel the room is abit too cold (hence the picture below of me covering up our 4 months old Carolyn), nice setting and comfortably lit.
