Decorating Your Bathroom

~ Posted on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at 1:31 AM ~

Do you know that the average person spends about two weeks in the bathroom each year or about three whole years of their life in the bathroom?

With this amount of time spent, I would think it is necessary that we have a bathroom where we feel comfortable to be in and that its' environment and  surrounding brings calm and relaxation feel to us whenever we are inside the bathroom.

Now what are the important features that you consider into when it comes to decorating your bathroom?

For me, I think bathroom lighting is an important feature to look into when decorating your bathroom. If I have the choice, I would choose a contemporary bathroom lighting, something like this:

I prefer bathroom lighting which is simple and clean looking, one that does not stand out or look out of place.

Another feature to consider when decorating your bathroom is the bathroom mirrors. With so many types and designs available on bathroom mirrors nowadays, it is not an easy task to choose one that is going to complement the look of your bathroom.

I would personally go for something simpler in style, and yet look classy and unique at the same time. I mean, look at the bathroom mirror shown below! Isn't it gorgeous?

Preparing Baby Solids - Carrot Puree

~ Posted on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 9:10 AM ~

One of my Facebook follower asked me to blog about how I prepare the solids for my girl when I posted pictures of my kids' meals on my Facebook page. So here it goes:

** Personal Note: Amount of carrots to use depends on how much you want to store and for how long. For this tutorial, I only used 1 carrot and it lasted for about 3 days (as this was the first vegetable puree I'm introducing to my girl, I don't want to go overboard, hence I'm starting off with small amount first)

** Personal Note: I used a metal container with cover when steaming because ermm.. I don't want to use plastic stuff especially when heat is involved? I steamed for about 15-20 minutes (tried once steaming for 10 minutes and the carrots are still hard on the inside) I usually use the fork/chopstick test to determine whether the carrots are done by poking the fork/chopstick through. It's ready if they can go through.

** Personal Note: I used this small blender (Korean brand called Shimono) which I love and used since Ben started his solids years ago! Just dump in all the steamed carrots, together with the water from the metal container (from the steamed carrots) and blend until your desired consistency and texture. With a spoon, scoop out the puree and store into ice cube trays, freeze them. After they are frozen, I took the frozen puree out and stored them ito a smaller plastic bag to save space in the freezer.

Blog Tips: Getting Products to Review

~ Posted on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 7:52 AM ~

I have received a number of emails and comments from my followers asking how I get to review products and apps so I decided to list down my tips and post it (maybe weekly?) to share my experience and tips. Feel free to drop me an email or comment if you want to find out more or anything else.

2 weeks back I shared my fifth tips in getting products to review, which is POST YOUR REVIEWS! Here goes my sixth tip:

JOIN SOME BLOGGING COMMUNITY!

Now what you need to do:

  • Browse around the Internet.
  • There are so many blogging groups and networks around, so look out for those and join them.
  • There are some network community which you can share and send out your pitches for opportunities to review products.
  • You can check out on my blog sidebar way at the bottom under 'Cool Apps' section, there are some logos I put up which I am affiliated with. You might want to check them out and joined them!

Even if you don't get to pitch products,

you might end up making new cyber friends.

All these blogging communities are about making connections and sharing and exchanging information and knowledge.

There you go, my 6th blog tips on getting products to review.

Try it yourself and let me know the outcome!

** P.S: Please note that it is always better if your blog has good following and good PR rank as these factors help a lot when you request for a product to review.
