Who Does The Shitty Job in Your Family?

~ Posted on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 12:05 AM ~

Sorry for the shitty word. Hope I did not scare you away from reading my blog. You may exit now if you are not comfortable in reading topics like this.

Don't worry, though I do have albums of Ben and Alyson's poop pictures (I kid you not!), I will not post it up for the world to see. I'm saving them for the day when they become famous in future and hopefully one of those awkward gross pictures could fetch us millions or gazillions of dollars when I sell them off to some famous tabloids or something! (kidding!)

Anyway, ever since I became a mummy in March 2009, I've been doing most of the shitty jobs - yeah... when I say shitty jobs, I meant cleaning up the crapiola aka shit.

Of course, I have to credit my dear hubby cos he definitely does his part during my confinement (we did our own DIY confinement where hubby became my confinement lady) but after that, most of the cleaning up job goes to me.

As we have yet to potty train Ben when he wants to poop, the honorary job still goes on... to me! Ben would rather stand and poop in his diapers and when he's done, he'll call out to dearest mummy to clean up his mess.

And of course, with 'IMPORTANT' job like this, I tried few times to delegate it to my hubby. So there are times, I'll tell Ben to ask daddy to clean him up and Ben will go 'Nooooo, I want mummy dooooooooo!' Arghhhhhh!!

Just the other day, I repeated the same thing, telling him to ask daddy to do and Ben this time goes 'Daddy not powerful!'... oh-kayyy... I got it... it takes a powerful person to do this job!

I feel so honored...

Does your child have a favorite person to clean up their poop?

And have you ever tried passing the job over to your spouse?

Product Review & Giveaway - VeggieTales: God Loves You Very Much

~ Posted on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at 1:22 AM ~

This is my 1st VeggieTales DVD review and boy oh boy, we have been playing this DVD EVERYDAY! To be honest, prior to getting this DVD for review, we have never watch Veggie Tales before. Sure, I've seen them being sold at my church's book store but we never thought of getting it. Anyway, here is my review:

I'm a full-time mummy

DVD synopsis:

""Does He Love Me?” is the question the Veggie Kids ask Larry and the answer is found through a fun trip of song and rhyme that gives the answer -- God loves you very much!  Join Larry, Bob, Junior, Laura and their pals as they recount all the ways that God shows kids he loves them even when "they forget to blow their nose, or dirty up their clothes!" This new compilation features stories that show uniquely how God cares for us in all kinds of situations!  With the classic VeggieTales episodes, kids also learn valuable lessons around love, including Gideon: Tuba Warrior (Trust), The Ballad of Little Joe (Facing Hardship) and Rack, Shack & Benny (Peer Pressure)"

Look at the pictures above of Ben watching the DVD intensely. I loved the storylines of each stories featured in this DVD and the lessons to be learned on how we should not despair when bad things happened to us as God can turned it around to make good things out of bad incidents, how we should trust God when He chose us to do something and how we should be steadfast and believed in the things we stand up for.

At the end of the 3 featured stories, there is a short bloopers of the intro which Ben loves to watch over and over and over again! I loved seeing him laugh at the bloopers.

Now, I would definitely play this DVD again (and again and again...) as it also has bonus features such as extra sing-along songs, how to draw tutorials and an interactive book.

Overall, I give this DVD a 10 out of 10. (yep, we love it!)

Almost Time For Solids...

~ Posted on Monday, February 6, 2012 at 8:51 AM ~

My girl is 5 months old last Thursday! Time flies so fast! During these 5 memorable months, I have been asked the following questions:

* "How many ounces of formula is she taking?" (My Answer: I don't know, she's still drinking my breastmilk!)

* continuing from above question with frustrated look... "Can't you see how many ounces when you pump out your breastmilk?!" (My Answer: I can't see it cos' I'm breastfeeding her directly!)

* "Oh... so she's solely on your breastmilk huh? (with puzzled unbelieved looks)" (My Answer: Yeah, and not even a single drop of water yet!)

* "You have enough milk for her? Look at you! So thin!" (My Answer: I guess it's enough since her brother is also still taking my breastmilk once a day)

* "Why don't you put on mittens for her?" (My Answer: Why do I need to? Her brother doesn't wear any as well...)

* "Look at her! She's busy chomping on her fingers! You should give her a pacifier!" (My Answer: Err, no thank you. Her brother does not need any pacifier and so does she!)

Soon it'll be time for her to start solids... I'm starting to feel the same thing I felt when Ben started his solids. Worrying that she will be less interested in my breastmilk when she's on solids etc etc.

I comfort myself by reminding myself that she's growing up and needs more variety in her feeding. And look at Ben,  at 35 months old, he is still on my breastmilk, even though he's down to one feeding a day.

So yes, I am going to look forward to this milestone of hers when the time comes...
