Book Review - Your 100 Day Prayer

~ Posted on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 12:05 AM ~

I have been taking more than 3 months to read through this book as I was so caught up with my other product reviews and teaching my boy since middle of September this year. In any case, I'm glad and a bit sad when I have completed this book, glad that I finally managed to complete reading it and sad that it's over. Here's my review:

Title: Your 100 Day Prayer: The Transforming Power of Actively Waiting on God
Author: John I. Snyder

Publisher: Thomas Nelson (September 13, 2011)
ISBN-13/-10:  978-1400203406 / 1400203406
Paperback: 240 pages
Dimension: 8.3 x 5.6 x 0.6 inches

Description from the product page:
"When the need is so great, so seemingly impossible that only God's direct intervention will ever bring it about, it takes a different kind of prayer. Your 100 Day Prayer is designed to take you straight to the heart and will of God by seeking him for a specific need.  This book includes:
A dedicated page to express your need before God on the day you start your 100 day of prayer, 100 entries to help you focus your prayer through the truth of God's Word and character,
Leading prayers to give you a jump start,
Writing space to capture your conversations with the Father and the spiritual transformation you experience day by day, and
A concluding page to memorialize how God answered your prayer and transformed you through the process.

Your 100 Day Prayer will help you access the power of sustained petitioning prayer.  You will find advice and encouragement for pleading one specific need.  And you will discover that God does respond. "

I love the idea of this book! 100 days of prayers! There are some pages which touched my heart:

* Page 21: "The presence of worry indicates a low level of trust in God, and a high level of trust in God will invariably result in a reduction of worry" - Ever since I put my trust and faith in God, I believe that we should not worry and to always cast our worries to Him for if He brings us to something, He will surely brings us through it.

* Similarly in page 26: "If sometimes God doesn’t heal our wounds the very moment we ask him, it’s not because he isn’t concerned; it’s because he intends to grow us through them", I believe that God will not let us go through an obstacles if He does not think we can handle it.

* In page 41: "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. – Psalm 2 3:1", I am greatly humbled and reminded that we should not ask and pray for our own needs, but to let God decide and let His will be done, not based on our wants. I have always practised this principle ever since becoming a Christian 7 years ago.

I personally learned a lot from this book and am greatly humbled and I am glad to be able to review this book! Now, do get a copy of this book for yourself too!!
