I have always been wary of using suntan lotions on my face as personally speaking, I feel the lotion is greasy and sticky when I applied it on my body and I am not comfortable with putting it on my face. So when I saw the pitch to review this suntan lotion for face, I went "Oh wow! A suntan lotion for your face? That I must try!" So here goes my review for the "Banana Boat Ultra Protect FACES SPF50":
Description from the product page:
"The sun’s UVA rays, which penetrate the skin and cause premature aging, and UVB rays, which cause the skin to darken and burn, combine to break down the structure of your skin leaving it dull and lacking in elasticity. Over the years, sun-damage becomes more apparent in the form of deeper wrinkles around your eyes and mouth as well as uneven pigmentation, which appears as age spots.
To help prevent this, an effective sunblock is an important weapon. Banana Boat Ultra Protect FACES SPF50 is formulated for everyday lightweight and lasting wear, and enriched with botanical extracts of tamarind, cotton and stevia. Hypoallergenic and dermatologically tested, Banana Boat products are Sun-Tested, Sun-Proven® protection against the sun’s rays.
In addition, Banana Boat’s AvoTriplex® Technology combines:
* Avobenzone, a powerful absorber of UVA rays which cause long-term skin damage. UVA rays penetrate deeper into the skin’s dermis and hypodermis layers to cause long-term harm to the skin.
* UVB absorbers to protect against the burning effects of the sun. Without proper protection, UVB rays penetrate the skin’s epidermis layer, causing it to burn within minutes, depending on your skin type.
* A photo-stabilizing agent to maintain longer-lasting sun protection without breaking down so easily."
Sorry for the picture quality... I took it in my bedroom and with a very curious 3.5 years old kid lurking all around me wanting to get a closer look at what's inside the packaging, I had to snap the pictures as quick as I possibly can. Look at my boy's happy face when he finally get to hold the boxes and wear the cute cap!
Pictures below taken to show you the closer look on how the suntan lotion looks like. The whole packaging, the bottle cap which is very easy to open even with one hand and also I squeezed some of the suntan lotion out for initial try.
Initially I applied it on my hand to test whether it is greasy or sticky or not and to my surprise, it is not at all! The lotion smears right onto my skin easily and does not leave any usual strong suntan lotion smell (compared to our current brand of suntan lotion). I like that it does not leave any greasy or oily feel on the palm of my hand after I applied some onto my face.
This is one product I will definitely use again and again whenever we go out for our family outing! And I like that there is a suntan lotion specially for our face! Now, question is:
Is your face sun-protected?
Banana Boat Ultra Protect FACES SPF50 comes in 60ml units and is available at RM32.90 at all chain pharmacies, retail stores and hypermarkets.
