When I received the email asking me to review this product, I researched further and was intrigued, I mean, to be able to watch so many channels and no need to worry about my geographic location? That sounds intriguing and of course, I decided to give it a try. Now, I am not that IT savvy when it comes to hardware (yes, I used to be in IT line but I'm an ex-programmer not hardware or techie person) or gadgets stuff so I have to rely on my hubby to set up the necessary for me.
Firstly, the instructions to set up Unotelly are fairly simple but I prefer to leave it in the hands of my hubby hahahaha... Anyway, it took him just a few seconds to run through the instructions and a few minutes to install and run the system.
As parents, the first channel we go to is kids related channels such as Discovery Channel and Cartoon Network (we are not a fan of Disney channel actually and only watch this channel when we are on holidays since the hotel we stayed in normally has this channel).
Based on hubby's observation after playing around and checking out some channels, our feedback on this system are:
* It is easy to setup the system.
* There are various channels available which can be viewed online regardless our locations.
* Although we can go to other channels, we still have to set up or register accounts with the respective channels in order to view those channels. My hubby expressed his disappointment in this area as our initial expectations on this system is we are able to immediately watch the channels instead of still needing to go to the respective channels' website and needing to create an account in order to watch the channels.
* However, my hubby did mentioned that the good thing with this system is we can watch HuluPlus channel (http://www.hulu.com) as being in Malaysia, we get this message "Sorry, currently our video library can only be watched from within the United States" when we try to access the website.
To sum up my feedback, Unotelly is a wonderful system which provides us to many channels available overseas.
