Product Review & Giveaway - Slugs & Snails

~ Posted on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 12:01 PM ~

Yet another Twitter luck I have when I stumbled upon this tweet message by Slugs & Snails looking for bloggers to review their products and after telling me they are OK at working with international bloggers, I immediately got down to choosing one of their designs and waited patiently for it to arrive to test it out on Ben! So here goes my review:

Description from the product page:
"Slugs & Snails tights are more than just tights. Our designs (unlike girl’s tights) don’t stop at the knee, which means that they can be worn with or without trousers. Each pair comes with our unique Slugs & Snails© leaf logo and anti-slip soles to give grip to busy little feet.

* No more lost or odd socks.
* Warm legs and snugly toes.
* Soft breathable combed cotton.
* Flexible yarn allowing room for nappies and chubby legs
* Soft non-slip text on the soles, ideal for wooden or ceramic floors.
* Funky designs loved by little ones.
* Beautiful packaging ideal for gifts and baby showers.

All our tights are 80% Cotton (17% Polyamide, 3% Elastane – the stretchy thingies) and made by our lovely manufacturers in Turkey. No Slugs or Snails are harmed in the making of our products."

This product arrived in 2 weeks time somewhere in the middle of April and it took me about 1 month before I can get down to reviewing it on my 3 year old. The reason in the delay is I waited until our recent family trip before I can try it out on Benjamin.

At home, our air conditioning unit is set to 24°C and Ben even kicks away his blanket though he's just wearing his diapers at night. Hence, the 1 month long wait until we have to stay in the hotel (air conditioning unit set low and unless we turned it off, we have no choice but to brave the cold temperature hahaha...) So anyway, back to the review...

The tights came in a neat package with a little transparent window for you to peek into the designs. It is folded nicely and you can read about their 3 Fs philosophy at the back of the box.

I requested for the "Out of this World" design with the biggest size they have which is 2-3 years old since Ben is 38 months old now. I love the anti-slip soles which actually reads the brand name and the tights size. The sewing is nicely done and I really love the funky design and the vibrant colors!

Btw, Slugs & Snails are a great potty training handbag/nappy bag accessory too as they take up no space and are super handy to keep tucked away in case of any little accidents because you have a pair of trousers and socks ready to wear with no fuss! Cool feature!

Pictures below shows my boy in the cute tights! He slips into it easily and was climbing and jumping around the moment he got it on. There was absolutely no need of me to be readjusting or pulling the tights up for him (like I normally do when he wears long pants or socks)

I love the fact that the tights kept him warm and yet did not restrict his movements at all, and at the same time making him look as cute as ever with its funky designs!

And honestly speaking, I think my girl would look cute wearing one of this too!

Product Review & Giveaway - Happy Future USA

~ Posted on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 12:00 PM ~

I'm all for products which are organic, what more for our children! So when I came across a pitch looking for bloggers to review these organic baby skincare products, I immediately jumped at the chance and emailed away! To my delight, I was given a whole set of the baby skincare products for my review! All the way to me in Malaysia! Woohoooo!! So here goes my review for the "Happy Future USA" baby skincare products:

Happy Future USA

Description from the product page:
"This is another delightful ‘real organic’ product from France, and certified as ‘pure, natural and organic’ by European Union agencies. Made with all natural olive oil and extract of lime, this hypoallergenic product contains no nut oils or anything harmful to baby. Happy Future products have just a whiff of French vanilla evaporating quickly leaving baby smelling natural and clean. Mom loves this lotion on her hands as well since there is no lingering chemical lotion feel."

* Note: Being Eco-Cert approved also makes these products USDA approved (since 2009 the two are working together) as the only 100% organic Baby Bath products on the North American market.

Picture above is the exact products I get for my review. I received a total of 4 products, so I'll break them down by each product:

* Liniment Lotion for Diaper Change: This is naturally rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids and it is enriched with beeswax, its film-forming action is also known to prevent the onset of redness by forming a moisture-proof barrier. I like the fact that this lotion works throughout the day to protect my girl from diaper rash. It does feel a little bit oily but the most important thing is it helps to coat my girl's bottom from getting rash.

* Delicate Cleansing Bath and Shower Gel: The first time I used this product on my baby girl, I thought it smells weird. Luckily my SIL was visiting us that day and after letting her smell it, she said "Yes, the smell is right. That's what organic products supposed to smell like!!! Trust me, it's good stuff!" Oh-kayyyy... to be honest, this is the 2nd time I reviewed organic bath products and I don't recall the other brand I reviewed smelling like this. When I asked my SIL how come the previous organic bath products i reviewed years ago had fragrant smell, she said they must have added some chemical to make it fragrant. Oh-kayyyy...

Anyway, back to my feedback, I used it for both my kids twice a day and their skin stays smooth and supple. I like the fact that I can use this product from head to toe! Yay!

I also noticed an instance where my girl has some dry skin on her back and I vigorously applied the shower gel on her back for few days and there is no more dry skin on her back anymore when I checked it few days later! Love it!

Happy Future USA

* Cleansing Lotion non-rinse: This is exactly the same as the "Delicate Cleansing Bath and Shower Gel" except you do not need to rinse off the shower gel after applying. My initial test was on my own hand, where I pour some of the gel onto my palm and started rubbing them. I was kinda hoping this product will fail me when I see tiny bubbles on my palm upon vigorous rubbing but to my surprise, the bubbles disappears very fast, leaving the palm of my hand clean and smooth. Like my SIL said, good stuff!

Happy Future USA

* Moisturizing Cream- face and body: This product smells good! I actually put on some for myself hahahaha... I don'f often use this product for my girl, only when I noticed her skin is dry then I will apply some on her body.

Product Review - Yes! Nurse

~ Posted on Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 7:01 AM ~

I stumbled upon this tweet message by Yes! Nurse looking for bloggers to review their products and I replied them asking whether they are OK with international bloggers and also telling them I'm just a mummy blogger not a nurse (just in case this product is specifically for nurses!), and my oh my, they are happy to provide me their product for my review!

I'm a full-time mummy

Description from the product page:
"Yes! Nurse was co-founded by a young paediatric nurse at the beginning of 2009. Having been signed of work with dry, cracked and sore hands, she noticed that many of her colleagues were suffering in the same way. Trying numerous hand creams with little or no effect she decided to research and develop a unique formula that actually worked.

Guided by nurses across the UK, she co-founded Yes! Nurse and developed an intensive moisturising hand formula that specifically combats the daily routines faced by nurses."

Sigh... I only realised how cute the packaging is when I checked out the press kit of this product! Of course I do get the same thing when this product was mailed over to me all the way from UK but the packaging was soaked wet (due to rain!) and the postman actually threw it into my house porch (probably trying to keep it from being drenched further) and it just lay on the floor for hours before we noticed it!

OK now back to the product... below is the snapshots taken of the Yes! Nurse hand cream. The hand cream fits nicely into the palm of my hand, it's about half an inch thick and 5 inches tall when being placed upright. I love the easy to open cover, just a flick of my thumb and we're good to go to apply some of the hand cream on!

I immediately washed my hands, dried them up and started applying a pea-sized amount of the hand cream all over my hands and fingers. Oh boy, the smell is so heavenly! I just love, love, love the sweet floral scent! I do however feel the oily part on my palms only for the first few seconds, otherwise, love the feel of it on my hands and fingers!

After applying the hand cream, I continue on being terrorised with my daily SAHM life with my 2 little monsters kids. You have no idea how many times I washed my hands, got them dirtied (thank you kids! Mummy loves you guys!) then cleaned again then repeats all this the whole day long.

And yet, my hands are still smooth and supple and not as dry as they used to be. Ahhhh...lovely, lovely! I apply these hand cream twice a day: before being terrorised by kids starting the day and after the kids go to bed.

A very good product I say!
