Fever One After Another...

My 13 months old girl was down with fever last Friday and as usual, we will let her wear the fish-net type of clothing and keep putting on wet hanky on her forehead to bring down her temperature.

She recovered on Saturday though she was still a bit weak. She normally likes to point at stuff when she wants something, but when she was sick, her pointing is also weak, the hand is outstretched but finger is still weak and pointing down. I'm so glad she was not fussy at all when we collected our Nissan LEAF car during the official ambassador launch event.

And on Sunday, it was my 3.5 years old boy's turn to get fever. I have been administering paracetamol to him every 4 hours when his temperature exceeds 37.4C

On Monday 8th Oct, his temperature at 3.30am was 38.4C and at 8.20am was 38.7C. I immediately bathed him in lukewarm water, change a new set of fish-net clothes for him, feed him his breakfast (oats with raisins) and then he pooped and continued watching his TV (guess it will be relax day for today).

Btw he was still active, alert and playful as usual though a bit more quiet when his temperature was at 38C-ish. And yeah, he kept taking off the wet hanky I put on his head so in the end I decided to do this:

Found an old hairband which I don't use anymore (my hair is short nowadays), wash and wet it and put it on his head. DIY at the spur of moment, as long as it works. His temperature at 11am is 37C, so I hoped it will go down and back to normal soon.

Our Favorite Children's Clothing...

We are a big fan of fish-net type of clothing for our kids. We started using it when Benjamin came along in March 2009, we even reuse some of his clothes with our second child, Alyson.

We just love, love, love this type of materials!

Fish-Net Clothes

As we are staying in a country with hot season all year round, these clothes are the best as it is airy and light and comfortable too!

Our kids wear it when it is hot, and even when they are having fever! I recommended these type of clothing to a lot of mummies online and in the forum I joined in as I believe the fish-net design helps release the heat from our little one's body and also cools them down faster.

And these type of clothing is not expensive at all! I normally get the blouse for about RM5 each (that's less than USD2 each!) and it lasted so long! I even have one blouse which was a hand-me-down from a nephew, which I think the blouse should be about 5 years old now!

So this post is just to share with you guys our favorite children's clothing!

Miniature World...

~ Posted on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at 7:15 AM ~

My 3 years old boy loves looking at miniature models. Whether it is houses, malls or other buildings, as long as they are tiny and small, he's all eyes over it! He can just stand there looking and looking and yelling out what he sees in the models.

Whenever we go to this mall near our house, he will surely tug our hands asking to be brought to the showroom unit in the mall. There are a bunch of housing and mall projects developed by the same developer that built the shopping mall we went to. So this showroom has a bunch of models of condominiums, bungalows, shopping malls etc.

I too love looking at miniature stuff like this, imagining tiny little humans living in those small little houses, cruising in the small little cars on the roads, tunnels, etc.

I remembered when I was about 12-13 years old, I got my dad to buy me this bunch of tiny fishes and I actually arranged and stacked some rocks and pebbles, put them nicely in an ice cream container that I have. I'd make bridges, paths and filled them up with water and put the fishes in. Then I'd sit there watching at the fishes swim around as if I'm the mayor of the fish city hahaha...

I guess my boy might have inherited my habit. We'll see if he ever gets to the fish part one day! It might make a pretty interesting activity / hobby!
