Product Review - FavorDeal.com Jewelry

~ Posted on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 1:25 PM ~

I received an email pitch from FavorDeal asking whether I would be interested to review some of their products and since they are OK with international bloggers, I proceeded to choose a few products of my choice from their website for my review!

1) Korea Modern Fashion Rhinestone Bling Tennis Bracelet - I love this bracelet! It looks so elegant and classy! One that I will definitely wear for formal functions.

FavorDeal

It has an elastic string which can stretch a bit more if your hand is bigger in size compared to my skinny hand. The rhinestone gems looks like diamonds at a glance! I like that the bracelet has some weight on it, as in it is not light that it can slide along your hand easily. Even my 1 year old girl is attracted to the bracelet, maybe because it is bling-bling to her hahaha... Highly recommended!

2) Nice European Lovely Daisy Style Hair Clips - One thing I was disappointed with is the hair clip was not of the color I requested for. Picture below taken from their website. I wanted the one at the far right, wine color but instead I got beige.

I really think the wine colored hair clip would make a better impact as the color is more contrast and obvious. Nevertheless, the clip is strong and tough, tried bending and twisting it and it stays put and not bend in any way. Like the cute little crystal gemstone in the flower!

3) Simple Hollowed Heart Elegant Choker Pendant Necklace - I choose this necklace because it looks so simple and nice. I would have wanted one with a plain small cross but they don't have anything that I wanted, so I go for this. The length of the necklace chain is just right, I have worn longer necklace chain before and I don't like those, so I'm pretty happy with the length of this one. As for the heart pendant, I feel it is too light and there are scratches or what looks like blemishes on the pendant, so I'm not sure whether the design is supposed to be like that or the material is too flimsy and easily blemished? The picture on the website shows the pendant looking glossy and shiny.

FavorDeal

4) Vintage Multicolor Bling Pendant Chain Necklace - To be honest, this is my least favorite item. Other than the multicolor pendant which looks awesome, I can't think of what other positive things to say about this necklace. The necklace chain is just a simple transparent string - like those fishing rod type of string. It bends and folds easily and the string makes the necklace looks ugly. It would have been prettier if the whole string is replaced with a plain silver thin chain. Currently, there is only a small portion of silver chain at the end of both clasps but that's all. The hook or clasp of this necklace is very difficult to operate and it took me quite sometime to open and close the clasps. I would not recommend this item unless they change the chain to a better and sturdy material.

FavorDeal

In summary, the products are gorgeous, affordable and the company provides good shipping options especially for worldwide buyers but you do need to check the product description properly to ensure that the product is of good quality and practical.

Product Review - Skechers GOrun Shoes

~ Posted on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 7:51 AM ~

A while ago I blogged about our shopping experience in one of the many Skechers outlet and then I blogged about Ben's Skechers Kid's Terminal Radian Z Strap Shoes , Alyson's Skechers Twinkle Toes: Shuffles - Cammie Cow Shoes and my Skechers GOplay shoes! This week will be our last review on this awesome shoes that my hubby gets to try out! Ladies and gentlemen, without further delay, let's find out more about the "Skechers GOrun Shoes":

Description from the product page:

Boy oh boy, you have no idea how much time my hubby took to settle on the shoes you see in the above picture! He walked around and around, tried and tested quite a number of the shoes in the shop, decided on one very nice looking shoes and then realised it's too soft at the soles for his liking and we all go back to square one and he gets to choose and try again.

He finally decided on this one because of the following factors: Lightweight, strong grip and very easy to wear and takes off, comfortable when wearing especially on his feet (he had this weird uneven feet) and good for casual and exercising use too. Now let's see how this awesome shoes look like.

Hubby is very happy with this shoes and I was actually surprised to see his surprise and gobsmacked face when he says 'This is actually nicer than my loafers!' I kept asking him 'Are you sure? You're not kidding me right? You're not saying that just because it's a review shoes right?' and he kept insisting it is actually very very comfortable and he is happy to get this shoes! So yay to Skechers!

iPad App Review - Thumbelina

~ Posted on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 1:22 PM ~

I received an email pitch asking whether I will be interested to review this upcoming story book app and upon checking out more info on it, I decided to review it because I grow up reading the Thumbelina story and yes, I guess reliving my childhood memories is kinda nice... not to mention to relive it with my children! Anyway, my review as below...

I'm a full-time mummy

* Title: Thumbelina
* Price: $2.99
* Category: Books
* Released: Sept 26, 2012
* Version: 1.1
* Size: 109 MB
* Language: English
* Seller: Oleksandr Pogrebniak
* Rated: 4+
* Requirements: Compatible with iPad.Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Description from the product page:

"A miniature red-headed girl has suddenly appeared from a flower. Her enchanting beauty sways many hearts along her travels. She took a trip on a leaf of a water lily, flew on the back of a swallow, and made friends with the tiniest beings. Colorful montages reflect both joy and sadness within these interactive pages of this app.

Thumbelina joins an unusual music performance, singing songs of joy to sunshine and summer flowers. A new friend’s charm vanishes, and is taken over by bitter disappointment. Cheerful chatter of birds with the rise of dawn and boundless freedom is replaced by boredom of reclusion. It’s also a possibility the days will seem endless in this silent custody. Despite whatever happens, brave Thumbelina is faithful to the voice of her heart, this voice guides her through all the miseries straight to the carefree kingdom of new friends."

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch and move around some of the objects in the story!

* Storyline wise, it remains the same but comes with glorious colors everywhere and with the upbeat music background, it gives the app a different modern feel to it. A cool thing is if you do not like to have background music while you read the story, you can turn off the music too.

* There is a page in particular which got Ben's attention, we can actually light up the room and dim it by touching the candles on the candlesticks hanging above the room. It's interesting and fun to see my 3 years old boy having fun playing with the lighting on this page.

* I like the navigation option where you can select which page to go to in this app.

In summary, this is a wonderful and captivating app which brings childhood memories back to life with a funky twist and new look!
