* I love the illustrations of this app, it is very cute and pleasing to the eyes.

* This is a fun app where you get to figure out what are the appropriate tools to use to fix a household problems! Some of the easy ones such as fire extinguishers and screwdriver are easily solved by my almost 4 years old. The tougher ones such as the hammer and pliers are a bit difficult for my boy as he has never seen any of us in the house using the tools (we try not to use these tools when they are around for their safety actually)

* I like that there is opportunity to educate and remind my kids that these are the tools that we can use to solve and repair something, instead of just throwing away a household item or buying a new one, I'd love to teach my children that we should try to salvage the broken/spoiled objects first before resorting to throwing/buying new one.

* I also like that some of the tasks shown in the app can be related to what we do on almost daily basis such as watering the plants.

* However I feel some of the tasks such as the wire fixing is a bit too tough to do, even for myself. We had to practically try a few times in order to get the wires fixed (joined back) and then using the tape to wrap the wires back.

* In summary, this is a fun app, educational at the same time which I think is good to have. Teaches your child to appreciate your household items and belongings and to salvage and repair first instead of discarding and buying a new one to replace at the first sight of it being broken or spoiled.

Fifteen Years...

~ Posted on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 12:08 AM ~

That is how long it has been since I started going out with my hubby!

We started dating on 1st March 1998, finally got married on 7th Nov 2007 and yup... 15 long long years...

To think that it all started with a small little posting in the friendship section in Galaxie magazine. I had earlier sent in a cute little posting about myself, looking for penpal and the ad was only posted 6 months after that and it was the first magazine issue that hubby happened to buy and my cute little 'Moshi, moshi!' tagline caught his attention, he wrote it (OK, he typed, photocopied tons of copies and sent out to several others) and despite me seeing him NOT even signing off his letter (and obviously he just photocopied it), I wrote back because I am nice (hahaha)

Anyway, the rest is history, a 15 long years history too. 15 years....

Here's wishing my relationship with my hubby as long lasting as possible and blessed with God's protection and love and that our children will grow up to emulate us and stay in a healthy long relationship too...

iPad App Review - What a Bad Dream

~ Posted on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at 7:27 AM ~

I mentioned before that we are big fans of "Little Critter" apps and the latest app we reviewed is the "Just Me and My Puppy". To be honest, I have been very interested to find out whether children dream and remembered what they dreamed of, so I have been asking my almost 4 years old boy whether he had any dream and whether he remembered them once in a while. Just curious you know... Anyway, the moment I saw the words "Little Critter" and "Dream" in the latest Oceanhouse Media's press release in my email inbox, I immediately requested for a review copy. Anyway, my review as below...

* Title: What a Bad Dream
* Price: $0.99
* Category: Books
* Released: Feb 20, 2013
* Version: 2.1
* Size: 38.6 MB
* Language: English
* Seller: Oceanhouse Media, Inc.
* Rated: 4+
* Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Requires iOS 5.0 or later.

Description from the product page:

"Little Critter dreams that a magic potion turns him into a scary, disagreeable monster that no one wants to be around. In his dream, he does whatever he wants. He has cookies and ice cream for breakfast, doesn't brush his fur or fangs, never changes his clothes or takes a bath, skips school and stays up late watching TV. When Little Critter is sleepy and ready for bed, there's no one there to tuck him in and read him a story. Luckily for Little Critter, it's all just a bad dream. Young children will relate to the sweet and funny ending!"

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I like the storyline where it tells how Little Critter dreamed he turned into a monster and he gets to do whatever he wanted and without caring for other's feelings and how it turned out in the end when he woke up from his dream.

* I used the opportunity in this app to gently explained to my almost 4 years old boy that although he may dream of nasty scary things, he must always remember that it is not real and daddy and mummy will always be there to protect and watch out for him.
