Easy to Remember Pancakes

~ Posted on Monday, November 21, 2011 at 8:08 AM ~

It has been quite a while since I posted stuff related to baking or cooking. As I was up wayyyyy early in the morning (like 6am) on Saturday, I decided to browse through my kids' recipes app on my iPad and found this super easy to remember pancakes recipe! One that I can whip up from scratch without relying on premix! Anyway, without further ado, here goes:

EASY TO REMEMBER PANCAKES

PREPARATION TIME: LESS THAN 20 MINUTES

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

* 1 cup flour
* 1 tablespoon sugar
* 1 tablespoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon salt (if any at all)
(I should have omitted this!!!)
* 1 cup milk (sometimes a little less) (I didn't measure this as I poured straight from an almost full 250ml UHT full cream milk)
* 1 egg, beaten
* 2 tablespoons butter, melted or 2 tablespoons oil (I used oil)

What to Do?

* Mix flour, sugar, baking powder and salt together.
* Fold in milk, beaten egg, and melted butter or oil.
* Grease griddle or pan.
* Put about 1/4 cup batter on heated skillet.
* When bubbles start showing on the surface of the pancake, flip and continue cooking until done.

THE RESULTS

I added 3 small bananas, half and sliced.

REACTIONS FROM MY "GUINEA PIGS"

ME
"Oh no! Salty! Should have omitted the salt! Tastewise, it's kinda like the fluffier version of my mum's Pok Chang"
BEN

"Mmmmm!!(He could have finished one pancake instead of eating about 80% of it if he had not eaten half slice of puff crust sponge cake while I was making the pancake)

HUBBY
"Salty! But OK-lah, I've seen some other hotels and places making pancakes like this. I think if eaten with bacon and all would be nice!"

So there you go.... my first attempt of making EASY TO REMEMBER PANCAKES without premix!

Just need to remember 1-1-1-1-1-1-2! Easy peasy!
