Being Inspired to Inspire...

~ Posted on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 8:33 AM ~

Sorry but I'm not trying to make you say a tongue twister or anything. Just writing this post to remind myself in case I feel down or depressed in the future.

You see, I was chatting with my fellow SAHM friend (it's you Miki! :P) during our recent MSN chat and I told Miki that I was recently emailing a blog follower of mine (am not sure whether she wants to be known so I'm just gonna nicknamed her as 'E')

So anyway, E was asking me how I managed to get the contacts for the product reviews I do on my blog and one email lead to another and next thing I know, E was telling me that she got inspired after reading my blog and she was determined to fully breastfeed her 2nd child.

Oh my... never did I realised that I can be a source of inspiration to others!

Really?

Me?

Me?!

So anyway, I was telling Miki that in the midst of me suffering through my initial tandem nursing aversion, never would I thought that there are other people out there reading and following my blog and looking up to me and wanting to follow my footsteps.

So this post is to remind myself not to give up easily as there are others who are looking up to me.

To E, thank you for telling me that I've inspired you, I wish you all the best and pray that you will achieve your goals.

I feel so inspired (really!) and proud of myself (after the initial shock died down..) and I promise myself, I will soldier on and not give up easily should I fall back and feel down in the future.

For those of you who followed my Facebook page, you will know that I am a big fan of inspirational quotes which I post everyday on the page. So when I saw this app from Oceanhouse Media and while browsing through their many selections of apps, I decided to try my luck in requesting it (it is an app for iPhone actually). I am so glad to be given the chance to review this app! Anyway, my review as below...

Description from the product page:

"The Inspiration Perpetual Calendar by Dr. Wayne W. Dyer, based on the New York Times Best-selling book, is now available for your iPhone or iPod Touch. This interactive calendar is filled with specifics for living an inspired life. From a very personal viewpoint, Wayne Dyer offers a blueprint through the world of spirit to inspiration – your ultimate calling.

Dr. Wayne W. Dyer has put together this perpetual calendar because he knows without any doubt that inspiration can be cultivated and be a driving force throughout life, rather than showing up every now and then and just as mysteriously disappearing, seeming independent of our desires. Inspiration is for everyone! It isn’t reserved for high-profile creative geniuses in the arts and sciences – it’s inherent in our Divine birthright.

As you read each of the entries in this calendar, you’ll find specific suggestions for living in-spirit. Start each day on a positive note. Send the inspirational message to a friend on their birthday. Enjoy! With the Inspirational Calendar app you can:
    * Experience 365 daily entries with inspirational messages and images
    * Browse through the entire calendar by swiping
    * Access any date with a few touches
    * Enlarge text for easier readability
    * E-mail Wayne’s inspirational messages to friends
    * Save a page to your Photo Library and make it your wallpaper
"

What's good?

* I am just mesmerised by the beautiful illustrations on each daily quotes!

* I love that I can browse the inspirational quotes, backwards or forward.

* I love that I can save the particular days that I want and even send it as an email out! This is how they look like:

What's not so good?

* There are some words that reminds me of those words I often heard when I joined yoga classes (for a month only) years ago such as 'in-Spirit', 'Source' and etc.

If you are a fan on inspirational quotes, then by all means, do try out this app!

You can purchase the "Inspiration Perpetual Calendar" app from the iTunes App Store.

I received no monetary compensation for this review, I was provided with the promo code by the sponsor to redeem the application for free from iTunes Store in order to facilitate my review. My First Purchase from Better World Books

~ Posted on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at 9:15 AM ~

I love reading books! I remember when I was about 11-12 years old, I used to hang out at my aunt's place after school (with my mum of course) and I'd be rummaging through my cousin's book drawers looking for books to read. Sometimes I even 'booknapped' some of her books back home and read it before secretly and quietly returning them back hehehe...

Of course I love reading printed copies of books but if you consider the environment, then I'm all for softcopy of course (which you can see based on my book reviews which nowadays are mostly done on softcopy versions)!

Anyway, since I still have some amount of US dollars left in my Paypal account, I decided to spend some on books! I'm so happy to be able to purchase the above books (total spent USD45.98 for 6 books).

Although some of them are abit costlier than other book retail sites, and some of the books are used and might not be in brand new condition, but the shipping charges is free (already cost into the books) and at least I know I did some charity at the same time I purchased these books because for every book purchased, Better World Books will donate 1 book to someone in need. Awesome huh? And btw, one of the books I bought came with the author's autograph too! Cool!

I don't earn any commission or anything from recommending you this site, just want to share in case you are a book lover like me. I'm definitely going to buy more books from them (after I finished reading the above books of course!)
