Preparing Baby Solids - Carrots, Corn & Green Peas Puree

~ Posted on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 9:03 AM ~

One of my Facebook follower asked me to blog about how I prepare the solids for my girl when I posted pictures of my kids' meals on my Facebook page. So here it goes the tutorial for Carrots Corn & Green Peas Puree:

** Personal Note: Take the amount of Carrots, Corn & Green Peas you wanted and steam them for about 10-15 minutes or until the veggies are soft (I gauged using the carrots). After that, blend to the consistency you wanted and serve or store in freezer.

When I prepared this for Ben 2 years ago, I actually peeled off the skins of the green peas after steaming! Am not sure whether it's good to do that or not but I'm not doing this anymore with Alyson now... too lazy and tiring to do this I guess!

Hope the above tutorial helps! Feel free to ask questions or share your feedback/experiences!

What's good?

* I love that I am able to download YouTube videos and watch it offline! Yay! No more freaking out when our Internet connection is down! This feature is particularly useful when we were travelling up north for our recent family trip and there's no 3G connection on certain areas.

* I like the super easy process to download a file or image! Simply load the webpage with the file or image you want to download, tap on the object (file or image) for few seconds and select the download option!

* The cool thing is you can download more than 1 file or image, the app simply queues up the file(s) and image(s) and while the app downloads your file(s) or image(s), you can continue to browse or watch your videos or files!

Room for Improvement?

* I think it would be great to have a version for iPad as the current layout is for iPhone. Of course, I can always tap the 2X view to enlarge it but it will make the words blur.

* There are some YouTube videos on dedicated channels which I can't seem to download correctly. It kept download another video instead of the one I wanted.

* There are some rare incidents where the app exits by itself.

To sum up my review, this is a very useful utility app as it enables me to download files and pictures immediately while I am browsing the Internet.

Earning Side Income Doing Courier Jobs?

~ Posted on Monday, May 21, 2012 at 3:15 PM ~

As a SAHM, I often heard from my friends who joke about using their vehicles to earn money as well while they are driving around, going from one place to another. There's also the idea being mentioned amongst friends and ex-colleagues about making use of our own car to fetch other children in the same neighbourhood as well since we have to drive them to school and places anyway.

Other than chauffeuring children around, do you know that we can also earn some side income by doing courier jobs such as delivering/picking up parcels, documents, equipments, everything! Of course the bigger the vehicle you have, the more items you can allow to deliver or ship along!

I came across this website that offers services to all parties: the carriers, the brokers and the shippers. The amazing thing with this company is it allows you as the carrier to search and connect to both customer and brokered loads, then negotiate and manage the brokers and shippers online and also get payment fast.

Now isn't that amazing to be able to fully utilise your vehicle to earn money since you are going to use it anyway?

If only they implement this in my country. Now imagine one day when my kids are ready to go to school and I have to chauffeur them around, why not do so and earn some side income as well right? Awesome...!

What are your thoughts about this concept?
