Few weeks ago I blogged about our shopping experience in one of the many Skechers outlet and the following week I blogged about Ben's Skechers Kid's Terminal Radian Z Strap Shoes! This week, I will continue on with our review and this time I'd like to introduce you guys to this uber cute shoes which my 11 months old princess gets to try out!

Ladies and gentlemen, without further delay, let's find out more about the "Skechers Twinkle Toes: Shuffles - Cammie Cow Shoes ":

The first shoes that caught my attention is of course the very same shoes I'm blogging about here! I think it's the big cheeky eyes on the cow character on the shoes that got me attracted to it. I got a bigger size shoes for Alyson as being kids, they tend to grow up very fast, so I think it's safe to say I can still put 2 index fingers of mine in her shoes.

Now let's see how this awesome shoes look like. Like I said, I love the cute cow character against the pure white background as I feel it is serene looking and refreshing! There's another shoe which has a monkey character on it but our decision is pretty much fixed on the cute lil' cow!

Now obviously my girl can't tie her shoes yet so we love that this shoes came with a Velcro strap which can be easily taken off and stick back.

One awesome thing to note about this shoe is the way it lit up! Oh wow... Unlike Ben's shoes which lits up along the sides at the bottom of the shoes, this shoes lit up at the front nose part of the cow where the glitter dots are located. It's just so girlish cute and I can't resist tapping the shoes over and over again just to see the lights hahahah... You can see how the shoes lit up at: http://youtu.be/rhgkfhL-tlE

The workmanship of this shoes are moo-gnificent and I love the base of the shoes, cute and yet provide strong grip as well. I am not a fan of shoes with slippery or smooth base. I also find it charming to see a cute little silver bell at the side of the shoes.

Skechers Twinkle Toes Shuffles - Cammie Cow Shoes

I'm very happy the shoes do not have any sound and that the light is not too overbearing. Our vedict? An awesome shoes yet it looks uber cute, perfect for our little princess!

This is my 3rd VeggieTales DVD review after "God Loves You Very Much" and "If I Sang a Silly Song". We are a big fan of VeggieTales after the first 2 DVDs (and I also bought another DVD from our church bookstore as well, so yeah, we are a fan!) Anyway, here is my review:

I'm a full-time mummy

DVD synopsis:

"The Penniless Princess—God’s Little Girl is the heart-warming story based on the children’s book A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The story, featuring plenty of engaging and fun music fit for families, including the all-new Silly Song “Best Friends Forever” and the featured song “No Matter What,” helps to teach an important lesson about knowing your own true worth and trusting God, no matter what happens in life. Other bonus feature include a special tour of London with the popular French Peas characters, a hilarious look at the history of the Teddy Bear, a discussion guide for parents, and behind-the-scenes clips.

 Sweet Sarah Crew has everything a little girl could want – a loving family, lots of friends and a closet full of frilly dresses! But when life takes a turn and Sarah goes from riches to rags, will she realize that her true worth lies not in what she has, but what she has in her heart? Find out in this inspiring new story from VeggieTales that reminds kids who they are in God’s eyes."

Firstly I must note down that it is a very clever idea to insert a penny on the PR letter that I got along with the DVD and the book! This is the first US penny I ever owned! *embarrassed and yet proud of it!*

Back to my review, I received a copy of the DVD and also the "365 Daystarter Devos for Girls" book which I am very delighted to get as I was only expecting the DVD. Heck, even getting that penny is surprising enough for me, so yes, again, I am thrilled to get the DVD and the book!

Ben scooted off the moment I browsed through the book, maybe it's all full of words which he doesn't seem to understand now. I hope it's not the pinkish color that makes him lose his interest. But rest assured, I am definitely keeping this book and will revisit it when my Alyson is old enough for this book! A quick note about the book: "Daystarter devos for girls help parents begin every morning with the wit of VeggieTales and wisdom from the Word of God! Includes 365 daily thoughts, a prayer, and a verse for kids to start their day out right!"

As for the DVD, I like the lesson to be learned, that it doesn't matter what you have, the most important is what's in your heart! I use the opportunities to teach my boy the importance of sharing, to be kind and helpful to others. The songs are catchy and cute as well and yes, we danced along to it too!

 My 3 year old boy sat glued in front of my laptop throughout the whole DVD. Of course I was right next to him while he watched the DVD and I explained to him in simpler terms that he could understand the storyline of the DVD and what is happening.

There are some breathtaking scenes from the DVD! Love them!

A fun, entertaining and inspiring DVD that is a must to have!

iPad App Review - Luca Lashes and His First Haircut

~ Posted on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at 5:38 PM ~

When I saw the opportunity to review this app, the first thing that came to my mind was "I need this app!" In case you don't know, I have been cutting my 3 years old boy's hair ever since day 1!

I don't see him complaining and I wouldn't mind IF I have the skills to cut hair... which I don't!! I do feel embarrassed at times when people asked me who cut my boy's hair as I think it must be his uhmmm... 'unique' hairstyle that caught their attention and prompted them to ask me that! So I hope this app will help my boy in the transition towards getting his hair cut by someone else other than mummy! Anyway, my review as below...

I'm a full-time mummy

* Title: Luca Lashes and His First Haircut
* Price: $1.99
* Category: Books
* Released: Jul 26, 2012
* Version: 1.0
* Size: 98.2 MB
* Language: English
* Seller: Luca Lashes LLC Apps
* Rated: 4+
* Requirements: Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad.Requires iOS 3.1.3 or later

Description from the product page:

"Is it time for your little one's first haircut? Have your children join Luca Lashes as he discovers the hair salon for the first time! This is a multilingual (English, French, Italian, Spanish, and coming soon Chinese) educational, audio app that continues the Luca Lashes series about children's "first" experiences.

This entertaining app encourages children to enjoy their first haircut along with Luca Lashes, the Brown-Eyed Boy with the Magic Eyelashes. Children can discover the sights and sounds of a hair salon through interactivity (touch, sight, and sound), and the story includes a list of parent suggestions to help with the inevitable nervous reaction most children go through at their first haircut. The Luca Lashes series is intended for children in the 0-4 year range."

I'm a full-time mummy

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the page on the screen and the page sways according to your direction you sways it!

* I like the storyline where it tells how Luca experienced his first haircut and discover what was it like to cut his hair in a new place.

* The illustration is beautiful and can't help but envy how nice it is to be having a hair cut sitting in cool cars and horses as the chair! I can see my boy nodding his head agreeing how cute and cool it is to see Luca sitting in a car having his hair cut.

Other Things to Note

I understand it is the character's 'power' to gain confidence and be brave by blinking his eyelashes twice but for me, I decided not to stress on this to my boy (compared to other pages, I will normally repeat and explain again to my boy) as I don't want him to be blinking at things. Maybe it's just my weird preferance but other than this, I think this book is a great start if you want to introduce the idea of having their hair cut in a salon to your little ones.
