~ Posted on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11:43 AM ~

When I saw the press release of this app from Oceanhouse Media, I immediately check out the app further. I go crazy at the thought of Ben going berserk with a new vehicle/transportation app, so I quickly request for a promo code to review it. Anyway, my review as below...

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I like that we can move the objects on each page! It gives you a sense of control and being imaginative to move the objects around!

* The illustrations are beautiful and the narration is great!

Room for Improvement?

* IMO, it would be better if the app can just focus entirely on the jet plane as the first few pages touches on other types of planes.

iPad App Review - Today Is a Holiday

~ Posted on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 8:52 AM ~

I received an email from Jimmy asking whether I would be interested to review this app as they are hoping I would be able to review and share about this app to other parents in the world. And to be honest, I am sort of a pop-up book fan, so, seeing these few words on the title of the app, of course I would be crazy not to review it! Anyway, my review based on the English version is as below...

What's good?

* The app comes in 2 languages: English and Chinese (FYI we are reviewing the English version)

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and there are animations on some of the objects we touched!

These 2 pages are Ben's favorite, the windmill and the clock turns when you touched it!

* I like the storyline where the animals decided to take their time off and go on holiday as well!

*  Ben also likes the animation and being able to flip through the pages and seeing the pop-up animation as the pages were slowly being flipped. Awesome!

Room for Improvement?

* Nothing I could think of, except maybe the price should be lower to attract more buyers?

Children... How Many is Enough?

~ Posted on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 8:37 AM ~

Was just thinking about this the other day...

Let me know if you agree...

  • When you got married and do not have children yet, people will ask you 'When is the little one coming along?'

  • When you have one child, people will ask you 'So when is the next one coming along? Don't you think your child is being lonely? You should give him/her a baby sister/brother!' or 'Don't leave a big gap in between your kids!'

  • When you have two child and both are boys or both are girls, people will ask you 'Don't you want to try for another girl or boy?'

  • When you have two child and you have 1 boy and 1 girl, people will ask you 'Why don't you try for another one, let them have their own brother and sister to play with?' (so you end up having to try for yet another boy AND girl so that both your kids can have their 'playmates'!

  • When you have four and above child (regardless how many boys or girls), people will ask you 'Whoa... so many, how can you handle them?!'

As for me, one boy and one girl, yet, we get a lot of statements like 'Very good! You can close 'shop' now, 1 boy, 1 girl!'

No offense, I don't know why, I just don't feel right hearing these statements. I mean, if God meant for us to have more kids, fine, it's not up to us to decide to ermm... close shop, you know?

So really... there's no magic number in having children. No matter one, two, three, four or more, people will always have something to say. What do you think?
