Winner for The Rattles Music CD

~ Posted on Monday, November 1, 2010 at 12:15 AM ~

About a month ago, I posted my review and giveaway for a copy of The Rattles music CD and it's now 12 minutes past midnight already, which means the giveaway is closed and I've already bugged my hubby to read all the comments submitted for the giveaway post and to choose the ONE and BEST comment to be the lucky winner.

Now, before I proceed, I've gotta explain a bit why I asked my hubby to choose instead of doing so myself...

#1: I know most of you guys who commented in the giveaway post, so I think it's fair that I get someone else who's totally stranger to all of you to decide which is the best comment as this person would most definitely not be swayed by any influence like friendship reason, and so on. Cos knowing me, I would've given the CD to each and every one of you, but so so so sorry, I only have ONE copy reserved for the lucky winner...

#2: Ehem... anything please blame my hubby muahahahahaha...

So without further ado, the lucky winner who's going to get The Rattles music CD for free is:

According to my hubby, the reason why the CD goes to mummy Pauline is: "Iggy likes music, and Pauline likes to give him something better".

So mummy Pauline, congratulations! Trust me, you will love the album!

I have just sent an email to you to get your further details! You have 48 hours to respond to my email before I pick another winner! As for the rest who participated in the giveaway, thank you for entering, better luck next time, OK? A note of thanks again to Nathalie from the Musebox for sponsoring a copy of this awesome music album to my lucky blog reader!

Book Review - Naptime (Elizabeth Verdick)

~ Posted on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 5:30 PM ~

I have the privilege of reviewing my subsequent books under Free Spirit Publishing, one of the set of 8 Toddler Tools™ Board Books by Elizabeth Verdick (illustrated by Marieka Heinlen) called:

Title: Naptime
Author: Elizabeth Verdick

Illustrated by:
Marieka Heinlen

Publisher:  Free Spirit Publishing
ISBN: 978-1-57542-300-5
Board book, full-color: 24 pages
Dimension: 7" x 7"

Description from the product page:
"Naps are just a little break—but when it’s naptime, many toddlers have trouble settling into sleep. This calming, encouraging book helps young children quiet down so they can get the rest they need. Eyes are closed, lights are dimmed…and (yawn, s-t-r-e-t-c-h) before little ones know it, it’s time to wake up. Cozy illustrations enhance the text.

An award-winning author/illustrator team offers a fresh look at the times and transitions all toddlers face daily, giving young children the tools to handle routines with confidence and cooperation. Part of the Toddler Tools series, Naptime can be shared before (or during) the desired “time,” or whenever toddlers need encouragement with routines. "

I love the cute cover with the little boy holding a cuddly lion toy! Each of the pages are solid and has a glossy feel, plus the illustrations are just too awesome and creative! The size of the book is just nice, not too big, not too small.

If you look closely, the characters and objects illustrated are not only hand drawn, they are also actual textures used to replace the clothings, toys, even the wallpapers in the book are from the actual thing! It's very cute and has that added touch!

With this book, I'm trying to teach Ben that naptime is important for him. There are simple to understand reasons on why naptimes are a must and easy to follow actions to take as we are getting ready for our naptime.

In my opinion, the Toddler Tools series are a good choice for parents to use with their children because of the positive message they brings! FYI, this book is the "Winner, Creative Child Book of the Year Award"!

You can get this book from Free Spirit Publishing, Amazon and many more.

I received no monetary compensation for this review, I was provided with a copy of the book by Free Spirit Publishing in order to facilitate my review. All opinions expressed in this post are my own. Please do your own research when purchasing products, as your opinions may differ from mine.

Ben's New Pool!

~ Posted on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 3:06 PM ~

Whoaaa... check out who just got himself a new pool!

We were out grocery shopping at Tesco yesterday night and saw this cute little pool and decided to get it for Ben because:

* saves more water compared to me flooding the balcony (due to lesser space hehehe...)
* it's cheap (RM15 or less than USD5)
* cute and portable
* safer as Ben will be sitting in the pool instead of running around at the balcony

Since we couldn't find the air pump, hubby and I had to take turn to blow up the pool ourselves. Once it's done, we proceeded to bring it out to the balcony and give it a good rinse to clean it up before getting Ben to fill it up with water.

Check out the snapshots of Ben below...

Look at those chubby legs!

And then I proceeded to snap the view of Ben in the pool from the top...

Ben played in the pool for a long time and refused to get out! I had to promise him we'll play again later in the afternoon in order to get him out of the pool (it was getting windy outside so I thought better stop and bath Ben). My little man is fast asleep now as I'm typing this post. Guess he's real tired with all the playing hahaha...

What a nice way to enjoy the weekend, huh?

Here's wishing you guys a wonderful weekend too!
