~ Posted on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 8:20 AM ~

My 4 years old boy loves animals! So when I received an email pitch on this app, I immediately requested to review it as I could definitely see the potential in our learning aspects! Without further ado, here goes my feedback...

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I like the storyline where it teaches us all about our feathered friends, the birds. The parts on their body, the different type of birds in the world, the sounds they make and so on.

* For example, at the picture below, I love that I can show my boy the body parts on a bird and I go on to explained to him why birds have beaks and not mouth like us humans.

* I find myself learning new things too such as the male Emperor penguin guarding over its eggs until they hatches! An eye opener!

We had just recently reviewed "Just Helping My Dad" and now, we have the privilege to add this story app to our collection!

Description from the product page:

"Little Critter visits his aunt, uncle and cousin in this charming story. The day starts off well but Little Critter quickly learns that it's not always easy (or fun!) playing with his cousin. After pillow fights, tattletailing and checkerboards overturned, Little Critter is ready to go home. What will his cousin do to save the day?"

One of the reasons why I wanted to add this story app into our collections is because our boy is regularly in touch with his cousins so I think he can totally relate himself with Little Critter and I was wondering what we can learn from this story app as well.

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I took this opportunity in this story app to teach my boy that although Little Critter's cousin is very mischievious, he should not follow his footsteps and must play nicely and fair and not engage in rough play as shown by Little Critter's cousin.

* I took the opportunity in the page above to show my boy that we have to say sorry and admit our mistakes when we do wrong and we should be remorseful and try to patch up any mistakes so that we can preserve good relationships with others.

Description from the product page:

"Little Critter is having a great day helping his dad. Whether he's making breakfast, cutting the grass or washing the car, Little Critter is filled with enthusiasm. Things may not always go as planned, but that doesn't stop Little Critter from trying his hardest!"

One of the reasons why I wanted to add this story app into our collections is NOT because my boy is not helping his daddy out, but more to reaffirm to him that he is doing a good job by helping daddy out with the houseworks and I'm glad this storyapp did the job!

What's good?

* It is engaging and interactive and I love that we can also touch the objects in each page on the screen and the words pop out to tell you what it is!

* I took this opportunity in this story app to teach my boy that even though he may be very enthusiastic with helping daddy out, there are some tasks that still required daddy / grown up people to do first and that he must still listen and obey to instructions.

* I took the opportunity in the page above to show my boy how a lawn mower works as we do not have a lawn (our porch has been cemented since day 1) and that it is important to let an adult handle machinery / heavy equipments.
