Word Search Puzzles

~ Posted on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1:10 AM ~

The other day our 7.5-year-old boy said he was bored. So hubby asked him what he would like to play. Our boy said puzzle games. Hubby then went to grab this book of word search puzzles and smilingly told our boy that he was very good in puzzle games like that and if mummy was to play it, will surely lose. Hah! I was laughing inside my head. Nevermind, like any humble superhero, I ain't showing my skills yet unless absolutely needed to.

After about 2 rounds of games (which our boy lost to hubby), hubby then challenged ME to the game. I accepted the challenge, still smiling while I let my hubby gloat on. We started with an easy puzzle as our 4th kiddo slept peacefully on the bed and our girls were on the floor playing with their princess toys. I won of course. Then hubby started shifting uneasily. I'm just warming up yo!

Word Search Puzzles

I won the next few rounds and that's when my hubby said that I won because it is harder for him to tilt his head to read the words. So I told him, "Fine, you can position the book wherever you want" and I ended up looking at the puzzle book like this. Exactly this position. No biggie. I can handle it no problem.

Word Search Puzzles

We continued on after I won again and again. If you have not seen how the look of despair is like, here you go...

Word Search Puzzles

Hubby finally realized that I meant it when I said I'm really good with word search puzzles! He surrendered after I won the last puzzle which is shown below. German names? No big deal, bring it on!

Word Search Puzzles

I remembered back when I was 12 years old, it was during the end of school term when the year-end exams were over and we were all waiting for the results to be out and we were allowed to bring any educational games or books to school to pass the time. One time, a classmate of mine brought this really giant book of puzzles. It was like 2 inches thick and that was my first time seeing word search puzzles. I was hovering at the back observing how the game was played as she played with our class teacher. Then I started getting the idea and slowly pointing to either my classmate or to our teacher where should the word be and as I got more and more excited (or annoying hahaha), my classmate offered me a chance to play in the next round and I was hooked. I think I solved almost all the pages in her puzzle book! It was really fun and exhilarating at the same time knowing I could do that!

I have previously mentioned in my blog posts that I am not a fan of beauty products as I always have the perception that there are simply just too many products and brands out there and how the heck am I supposed to figure out which one works best for me? And being a frugal person, I never really buy beauty products especially now that I am a SAHM and there are not much opportunities for me to go out anyway. I don't even wear makeup when I was working last time, let alone now! But of course, deep down inside, I do want to look good and on the occasions that I am out in public, I do want to look presentable and pleasant to look at.

So to be given the opportunity again to work with Modbox, I was of course delighted to be able to try out beauty sample products delivered right up to my door and I don't have to risk wasting my money buying the actual size products and end up not liking it. So anyway, I received my first blogger kit beauty box delivered right to my doorstep few days ago and this is how they looked like the moment I opened up my parcel:

Modbox

Here is a short summary of the products:

1) Crabtree & Evelyn Lavender Hand Therapy (RM35 for 25g).

Modbox

=> My feedback: I put on some on my hand and the first thing that I realised is the fruit flowery scent of lavender. Nice! My skin also felt smoother and softer after applying the cream. Will need to apply in longer run to fully test the results of this product. Btw I also received a Tarocco Orange Body Lotion sample pack and a Somerset Meadow eau de toilette perfume vial. I used to collect perfume vial!

Modbox

2) Ronasutra 2-in-1 Mineral Foundation & Powder (RM48 for 8g).

Modbox

Modbox

=> My feedback: I asked for ivory color (code 00) as it is the closest match to my fair skin and I love it! Its powdery texture when applied smoothly onto my face is able to cover up my blemishes and smoothen my facial skin as well giving me an overall fain skin outlook. And the awesome thing is you don't need to put up so much powder as a little bit of it does wonders already!

3) Unico Advanced UV Defense SPF50/PA+++ (RM198 for 30ml).

Modbox

Modbox

=> My feedback: This sample came in a very distinct blood red bottle. The cream is vanilla beige in color and I dabbed some onto my left cheek. It does not feel sticky at all and has a nice and very refreshing smell but I will need to try this out a few more days to fully test the results of this product. I am happy to be able to try this out as being in Malaysia, we get hot hot hot weather all year round, so to have this product is really handy!

4) Murad Hybrids Eye Lift Illuminator (RM165 for 1.8ml).

=> My feedback: I dabbed some right below my eye (on my dark circles and eye bags to be precise) and immediately felt a minor tinge feeling where the cream was applied on. After a few seconds, I can actually feel some tightening motion below my eyes as the cream dried up, kinda like the cream is stretching my skin, pulling them away and I can noticed my dark circles and eye bags are not so visible and obvious. Will try few more times to fully test the product.

Do give Modbox a try as there are potential with unknown brands and for the price comparison with other beauty subscriptions (which could be double or more of what Modbox is offering)! As for me, I will definitely look forward to trying out more beauty products and being part of Modbox Bloggers Community!

Product Review & Giveaway - Boys Winter Tie Dye Pyjamas

~ Posted on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 PM ~

I had previously reviewed the breastfeeding cover and nappy wallet by BabyButton. Continuing on from there, I am now reviewing another product which is sold on their website, the Boys Winter Tie Dye Pyjamas by Whatever Wear.

 BabyButton Nappy Wallet

"We take great pride in sourcing the highest quality materials at an affordable price. We see the BabyButton collection as no ordinary baby product, this collection has been inspired by a Mum made for Mums. These products are not mass produced that adds no real purpose to the baby or the mum. We offer practical solutions to real problems that Mothers face. Baby products that have a purpose, we make a difference to the whole Motherhood experience. We offer real products, real solutions to common baby and Motherhood problems."

BabyButton Nappy Wallet

I requested to review the Tie Dye Pyjamas design because it looks kinda like a soldier clothing, except in blue color dye. I think my 4 years old boy will go crazy if the pyjamas is in green hahaha... Anyway, I did the initial tests on machine washing, drying, etc and it all works out fine, no discolouration, no fading, no shrinking. Good quality!

The first time my boy saw the pyjamas, he was excited because it looks like soldier clothing (even though it's blue) and he can't wait to put it on. Please note that the pyjamas is a tad too big because the smallest size on hand is for 6 years old and I don't really mind getting larger clothes for my kiddos as that means I can let them wear longer. All I need to do is just fold up the extra bits and it's good already!

The pyjamas kept my boy warm throughout the night and because it is 100% cotton knit, it is also comfortable for my boy's skin as well. To sum up my review, this is a great product!
