My Workspace Makeover...

~ Posted on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 12:49 AM ~

I just had a makeover for my workspace! I totally forgot to take the pictures before and am lazy to search through my shared drive looking for the pictures with my previous workspace look.

So anyway, hubby helped me moved over one of our Ikea's bookcase so that there's more organised space for me to stuff in the on growing books (from my reviews) and Ben's books and toys.

Previously, the bookcase was right outside, next to our bathroom and Ben loves to crawl through the bottom 4 shelves - sort of like a tunnel. The bottom 4 shelves were empty because of Ben and with him growing taller everyday, the top 4 shelves are in danger of being emptied, so we decided to move the bookcase over to my working space so that I can still make use of the shelves.

The after look...

Bookcase now at the side wall, my working table shifted few feet to the right to make space to squeeze in the bookcase. I slapped on a cute little height chart sticker on the side to keep track of my little man's height.

Top 4 shelves are fully utilised to put office files (noticed hubby's business documents and filing right on top secured with 2 book ends),  some files in magazine boxes, my cooking books, Ben's books and coloring stuff, bibles and inspirational books.

Now, below is the front look of what's in the bookcase shelves... Potentially easy for Ben to grab things (his coloring stuff and books) are on the top shelf, while the not so often used items but will be use (one day!) are situated in the inner shelves.

I feel much more organised now though I'm still getting used to the new location of the stuff around the me on the table hehehe... but still, am so glad for the makeover! And of course,

No more Ben doing this...

Book Review - Sorry I Peed on You (Jeremy Greenberg)

~ Posted on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 12:39 PM ~

I am so thrilled to review this compilation book of informative (and hilarious) letters from 50 precocious toddlers by Jeremy Greenberg called: "Sorry I Peed on You".

I was totally attracted by the cute cover picture. Reminds me of the time Ben did a similar thing...

Excerpts from the marketing copy:

"MSN's resident parenting blogger Jeremy Greenberg, who also travels the world performing stand-up comedy, combines cute, informative letters from 50 precocious toddlers with accompanying full-color photographs inside Sorry I Peed on You (and Other Heartwarming Letters to Mommy).

Wouldn't you love to know what your toddler's thinking when he refuses to stop jumping on the couch? Jeremy Greenberg's hilarious and thoughtful letters give parents a glimpse into the minds of their little ones. Finally, we can hear "first person" how a kid really isn't fooled by broccoli buried in cheese, how he'd really appreciate it if he could start going down the slide by himself, or how he'd like to apologize for peeing on you during the two seconds it took for you to reach for a fresh diaper. From Daddy's latest four-letter vocab lessons to the dog's (not the toddler's) repeated milk dribbles on the carpet, this hilarious book answers a question every mother of a toddler wants to know: What in the world are they thinking?!

Firstly, love love love the cute cover!

Next, as you flipped the pages in the book, you will get to see cute pictures of babies and toddlers, accompanied by their 'letters' to their mummies, explaining why they behave in a certain way.

I love how the author explains in a humorous way why babies and toddlers behave strangely differently. For example, in one of the letters, a toddler explains how the act of tossing the marinara sauce against the wall is actually an act of creative expression and wondered why mummy is not happy at all while daddy seems to be thirsty and 'need a drink' after seeing his masterpiece on the wall! Just super hilarious!

This is just one of many many more hilarious letters from the children to their mummies. You really should watch out for this book when it's out (scheduled 22nd March 2011)

If you are planning to get a book for a new parents, you should consider this book! As for parents like us, when you read the letters and look at the pictures of the babies and toddlers, it will definitely brings a smile and chuckle as you reminisced back to those scary-heart-attack funny days when your own child is acting just like the one you saw in the book.

My name is Benjamin. At 18.5 months old, I might be one of your youngest fan - for now.

Btw, I love guitars!

When my daddy went to buy his own accoustic guitar, mummy and I tagged along and I was so amazed at the many selections of guitars there.

Yes, I might be in my jammies, but it's the passion and talents that matters right?

Every morning after I wake up, I'll bug the daylights out of my mummy to play your song, "Say" then I'll grab my guitar and pose like you.

And sometimes I hum and sway along to your song.

Sometimes I pretend as if I'm singing in front of a big crowd in one of your awesome concerts and I'd be generously granting encore requests from my imaginary fans.

You guys over that side!
You want one more round?!

Sometimes I just sit around and strike my macho pose like how you do it.

I know I'm still a toddler and my interests changes really fast.

So while you are still at the top of my favorite stuff, I just want to dedicate this post to you.

Thank you for your awesome music!

Love you (for now),
