3 Babycook Recipes the Entire Family Will Enjoy

~ Posted on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 12:30 PM ~

The baby food maker has helped numerous families get their toddlers to enjoy delicious, nutritious meals. There is no shortage of recipes parents can use. In fact, the dishes can be so tasty that mom and dad may feel like having a bite. Here are some quick, easy recipes to try out once you get the best baby food cooker around.

1. Raspberry Yogurt Shake

The ingredients you will need for this recipe include one “just for baby” yogurt, designed for kids between six and 12 months old, one tablespoon of crushed ice, one teaspoon of sugar and about 6 raspberries for each serving you want to make. Here are the steps to take.

1. Wash the raspberries.
2. Blend slightly within the food maker.
3. Once pulsed, add the crushed ice and yogurt. You can also add a tiny bit of sugar.
4. Add more sugar if needed.
5. Serve to your youngster.

2. Watermelon Granite

This is great for toddlers at least eight months old. You will need a watermelon slice, three fluid ounces of mineral water, a lemon and four teaspoons of fine sugar. Perform these steps.

1. Cut watermelon from the rind. Remove all seeds.
2. Place watermelon in food maker and pulse.
3. Boil mineral water and sugar together in a separate saucepan.
4. Mix in lemon juice and watermelon from baby food maker once it comes to a boil.
5. Let concoction cool in the freezer for at least 30 minutes.

3. Tomato and Bobby Bean Soup

You will need 50 grams of bobby beans, 60 grams of potatoes and 40 grams of tomatoes. Fill the water up to level three in the baby food cooker. This will liquidize the vegetables into a soupy concoction perfect for toddlers between four and six months.

These recipes are so good, you may feel like dipping a finger into the food to try it out yourself.

Product Review - Merry Nation

~ Posted on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 5:50 AM ~

As a busy mum with 4 kiddos between 9 months old to 8.5 years old, I have started cutting down on doing product reviews to focus on our childcare and family life, home cooking, helping with hubby's administration site of the business and sharing informational articles on my FB fan page so I am only accepting and prioritizing products that can fit into our family dynamics (especially books on parenting or educational stuff, family products, something along those genre)! Today's post is my review on Merry Nation range of vegetable powders.

I received the Merry Nation's Starter Kit which contains the following products for my review:

Merry Nation

  • Organic Turmeric Powder

  •  Organic Maitake Mushroom Powder

  •  Organic Fantastic Greens Powder

  •  Organic Carrot Powder

  •  Organic Kale Powder

  • Organic Bird's Eye Chilli Powder

  • Organic Ginger Powder

  • Organic Beetroot Powder

I didn't get to try out the entire range of the starter kit though so I'm sharing those that I've tried out so far in my cooking for my family.

A quick feedback on the packaging of the products -the bottles come tightly sealed with a plastic layer on the outside, once you tear off the seal you can start using the powders! The starter kit's bottles are small and nifty, good for me to bring along in case of travelling :)

Do you know that the vegetable powders are 100% raw? Also the vegetables are dehydrated at low heat so that more nutrients and enzymes are preserved as compared to mass produced, store bought powders dried using high heat.

Now let's continue with my feedback on the powders I get to use so far - I tried the Organic Carrot Powders and Organic Fantastic Greens Powder when I made oats for our 9 months old boy. A healthy way to introduce vegetables into his solids journey right?

Other than our littlest kiddo, I also use the vegetable powders when cooking scrambled eggs, stir-frying vegetables as well as morning egg toast for our kiddos.

Now of course the adults (my hubby and I) also get to enjoy Merry Nations starter kit vegetable powders as well! I use the Organic Bird's Eye Chilli Powder for our spicy pork dishes as well as when I made spicy stingray. The dishes are particulary extra spicy this few rounds! Yums yums!

Picture below is how I marinade the stingray with Merry Nation's Organic Turmeric Powder. I can actually taste the turmeric stronger taste this round you know! More ooomphfffhhmm!!

Lastly pictures below taken of the dishes I cooked with the vegetable powders from Merry Nation.

To sum up my review, this is a wonderful range of organic vegetable powders that my family and I have been given the privilege to try out! Thank you Merry Nation!

Stir-Fry Fish Slices with Ginger & Scallions

~ Posted on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at 5:07 PM ~

For this post, I am sharing my next food recipe, Stir-Fry Fish with Ginger & Scallions (in Cantonese, we called this 'Keung Choong Yue Phin'). Without further ado, here is the recipe for Stir-Fry Fish Slices with Ginger & Scallions:

Ingredients:
* Fish (I used Asian sea bass or we called it siakap here in Malaysia)
 * Garlic (quantity up to you, the more the better flavor - cut into small slices)
 * Scallions (quantity up to you, the more the better flavor - cut into small pieces about 1cm in length)
* Ginger
(quantity up to you, the more the better flavor - cut into thin slices about 2-3mm wide)

* A pinch of salt (to marinade fish and flavoring)
* 1 tsp of chicken stock powder (for gravy/sauce)
* Half cup of water (to make the gravy/sauce)
* Oil - for frying the chicken meat (quantity up to you)

Methods:

* Wash the fish, make sure they are as dry as possible (use paper towel to absorb). Slice the fish into bite-sized chunks.
* Marinate with salt for about 10 minutes.
* Heat up oil in pan.
* Fry the fish until half cooked (I normally fry until a bit brown)
* Add ginger and continue frying for about 2-3 minutes
* Add garlic and scallions followed by water and chicken stock powder, cover the frying pan and continue frying for another 10-15 minutes
* Ready to serve

Outcome:
